This Page (extras) has menu links to past and recent additional
features/resources of our website. The menu on the 'left' was
only intended to be temporary, so other additions will be
linked from "those" pages. Details of updates will be posted
on the news page. A new section with stuff from the
"Guitar Shop" is in the works. Until this is added to the menu,
we'll have it linked from the Gear Page.

I have so many guitars, but this RG550DY
is probably my "main-axe".
The only things original are the fretwire, the factory paint job, & the hardware. Even the back of the neck has been reshaped on this one. I usually scallop all the frets on the maple necks. The rosewood necks get scalloped from the 12th fret-up.
As soon as I get these 550s, they go right to the drill-press to cut the "handles" (sort-of copied from the "Rootbeer-JEM" models).

Up close, this RG540S has the look of stainless steel. The stardust look was an added idea I had while it was still in the paint-job-process (great work from my good friend Johnny Mendes!!).
Thanx' to my good buddy Dave Downey (a.k.a. Rat Cracker Bastard) for the stickers!
Same electronic & pickups I use on most guitars; DiMarzio "X2N" in the bridge & DiMarzio "FastTrack1" in the neck. Included is a very extensive tremolo system in the rear; with the old Ibanez "Back-Stop", "Block-Lock", worm-gear-claw, & the usual silicone rubber coating I use on the springs. This was also my first Ibanez!.
The original factory paint job was a teal blue-green. Called 'Carribean-Blue in the Ibanez catalog.

One of my "side-gigs" is doing these re-creations of Egyptian artwork & scriptures. Most have been sold in stores around the Boston area. The mediums & materials vary from linen to watercolor paper, & even real papyrus.
To see this original is really something. Including the mat it's mounted in, the width is about 3 feet.
